Actions imitating human life and performed, usually by human beings, before an audience
usually on stage, and usually capable of repition. A play that is performed within a chosen and
more or less fixed period of time. The length of performance measured sometimes in minutes
but more often in hours, is always a controlling part of the experience of play by an audience.
Many plays are written to be performed by puppets, model human beings who may perform
without human manipulators being visible at all.
According to western theatre, play can be described as “an action in imitation of life”.
(Brown, 1997) However, in a short description play is an imitation of human life that is repeated
by performance for an audience. Although a play text may be created one and for all, that play
in performance continually re-created and changed. Plays are complex and variable that they
are usually defined not by what they are in performance, but the main features of their texts.
Studying plays as text is practical way to understand them. However, there are varieties of play
such as tragedy play, comedy, romantic comedy, farce and tragicomedy. According to Aristotle,
elements of a play attempt to define by the story, and also by character and theme. Through
this, it leads us to consider and backbone of any performance. Besides that, the play’s story or
imitation of an action and also to consider who enacts the story .Most plays are rooted in
storytelling, and most audiences are held by for it.
Art Making Process
Art making process can be defined as an art conception, idea development, making the
artwork and development and finishing the artwork. To some, ritual performance is prayer. To
others it is a way to express religious or cultural heritage or to affirm one’s devotion by carrying
out a particular commandment or practice such as dance, complex musical scores, repetitive
beats and shamanic movement. (Realm)
In ritual art making process is to explicate how the conscious engagement with tools
and materials enables meaning making and to understand the theatrical components of ritual
within the context of transformation.Rituals may also assist us in coping with some of life's most
difficult times, like grieving, according to some evidence.Theatretrical execution is a type of
workmanship as it works difficulties a few
parts of this origination. The notion that, if not by music, then certainly by dance, all
works of art endure pressure. Being familiar with content and performance practice traditions
and their connections is part of the art making process in theater. In order to comprehend a
performance, one must comprehend both the performance practices' and the contents'
traditions.
Ritualization
Ceremonies can be portray as performative as they acts are finished and the
presentation are ritualized. They are codified,repeatable activities. There are not many elements
of theater that has been recognized as Aristotle and Horace which is as performer, a festival, an
upgrade of social fortitude, an instruction (counting political training and recuperating. Customs
stress viability which is mending of the sick,initiating heophtes, , covering the dead, showing the
oblivious, cultivating, establishing social relations,maintaining the state of affairs, recollecting
