Research methodology

This data collection technique aims to learn the researcher's approach to a community
group or group of individuals from which data has been collected. Mainly The main target group
is the residents of Kampung Anna Rais, Padawan themselves because they had witnessed the
ritual ceremony of the purchase. Accordingly, this technique is to formulate and organize the
questions and re-answer given by the respondent. Then take notes as well make a voice
recording to get an authentic source. Qualitative research design was applied in this study.

Interview

A depth interview be conducted for the residents of Kampung Anna Rais. In this study,
the residents of Kampung Anna Rais became the target group to get information directly where
origin and occupation will be listed in the questionnaire. The interview session with the villagers
and the village leader Mr. James will be done informally. However, all the information presented
has been saved for the purpose of data analysis.

Narrative analysis

Narrative analysis is used in this study to analyse the structure of the performance by
the Dayung Borih in Gawai ritual by listening to the story of the Dayung Borih in Kampung Annah
Rais to determine the elements of the fan in the performance.

Library research

Library research is an appropriate approach used to collect the data needed for
understanding of the studied concepts. This method is used references to articles, books and
written materials. For example, a book that writes about the theory of performance art the fan
has referred to so that the writing is clearer and authentic to be associated with research
objective. Other than that, the researcher has already referred to data from primary source
results without leaving out form data secondary.

Online research

The research conducted refers to many articles written by previous studies where there
is writing about the buying ritual. Therefore, the researcher also studied as well parsing the
results of previous studies to be used as material for research literature. Reference through
databases such as Google Scholar is a source should be referred to because all past research
writings are in the form journal publication.

FINDINGS
In a research paper or thesis analyzing Dayung Borih in the Gawai ritual through a
performance theory perspective, the "Findings" and "Discussion" sections would present the
results of the study and provide an interpretation and analysis of the findings based on the
elements of the fan theory.

The fan
The fan consists of 7 elements such as rites and ceremonies,shamanism, eruption and
resolution of crisis, performance in everyday life, play, art making process and ritualization. All
this elements is used to determine the performance of the Dayung Borih is a performance.
