               Conclusion
                       A dense, carbon black ink has been successfully reproduced based on a Malay traditional recipe
               originated from Pasir Mas, Kelantan. The black ink comprised of soot and mangosteen charcoal as the
               colourant, cashew gum as the adhesive or vehicle, black pepper, virgin coconut oil and salt as additives,
               and distilled water as the solvent. Their respective composition is 4 g soot, 4 g mangosteen charcoal, 2 g
               cashew  gum,  3  g  black  pepper,  0.1  ml  virgin  coconut  oil,  0.5  g  salt  and  100  ml  distilled  water.  This
               formulation has been screened upon undergoing a series of qualitative and quantitative evaluations. The
