To enhance cultural performance in Sarawak Cultural Village in the future, the researchers would
like to suggest redesigning the auditorium that focuses on maximizing the exit and entrance for
performers. Another suggestion is to revisit the seating arrangement that may give maximum visibility to
the audience. Lastly, adding advanced technology to support relevant performance structure should be
prioritized too. SCV’s cultural performances hold great potential to expand more than they have now.
This study has provided valuable insights into the intricate dynamics that exist between
architectural design and the successful execution of cultural performances. These elements need to be
highlighted because audience experience towards watching the performance is slightly influenced by the
characteristic mentioned in the paper. Some directors might have a fantastic idea to deliver their show
however at some point audiences can’t enjoy their performance because can’t see it clearly. The
directors might not realize that one of the factors is the seating arrangement that usually they can’t
change because the seating is already permanently placed. Therefore, this research is important to help
the auditorium operators decide on their seating before it had been permanently installed. Lastly, this
study further opens avenues for future research into how similar principles can be applied to other
cultural and performance spaces, contributing to the enrichment of cultural exchanges, and preserving
the heritage of diverse communities around the world.
