On-Site Discussions and Presentations for the Taiping Project
In the post-site visit phase, students would digitally transfer their site visit data to prepare for the
final documentation and exhibition. The deliverables for the exhibition are books, video documentaries,
drawings (technical drawings, sketches, digital 3D drawings), and exhibition materials (posters, models,
moulding displays, drawing displays, infographic displays). Students are assigned to work in groups
according to the specific tasks, while at the same time, each group would also analyse the heritage sites
based on the assigned topics. Presentations are held weekly to assess the progress work. Previously, for
all projects from 2013 to 2019, progress presentations were done digitally, mainly using Microsoft
PowerPoint, Microsoft Publisher, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator, and using
manual drawings, physical models, and handcrafted exhibition display items (refer to Figure 8). Post-
pandemic, university students and lecturers are exposed to collaborative and creative platforms such as
Canva, Miro and Google Shared Documents. These applications are used in the Taiping project and are
advantageous for group work where each member can give input on their parts while working in a live file
with their group members.
