The manual drawing tools served are convenient and mobile and are not battery-dependent.
Therefore, they can be robust for quick observations and annotations at any location for the whole day.
However, the drawback of manual tools is their limitations in some small spaces if using large base maps
and in bad weather if they are exposed to sudden rain outdoors. Sketchbooks have become the most
reliable mobile tool to record observations and quick mapping that can later be transferred to the base
maps when convenient. The photos and videos are viewed digitally using laptops and will only be printed
during the post-site visit analysis and documentation for exhibitions. In the most recent project, Taiping,
the students applied a more advanced tool to visually document the heritage site using the drone (refer
