ABSTRACT

This study deals with the analysis of wisdom in the poetry of Dewan Siswa, published by Dewan Bahasa
dan Pustaka. In this context, wisdom refer to Islamic thoughts, virtues and values. Poetry seeks to be a
platform for applying Islamic thoughts and values. The issue of this study is the extent and type of wisdom
among student poets in poetry. Therefore, this study was conducted to analyze the Islamic values that
symbolise the wisdom of student poets. A total of 24 poems were published between March 2023 to
September 2023. The research used a qualitative approach and content analysis. The analysis was
conducted using the conceptual framework put forward by the Persuratan Baru, which views works of art
within the framework of tawhid. In this study, any good value and Islamic value that draws closer to Allah,
brings the value of Tawhid, creed, morals, elements of Da'wah, devotion and so on will be seen as an
aspect of wisdom among school and college students. Based on the data analysis, this study found 12
types of wisdom applied by students in their poetry. This study concludes that students have a high level
of wisdom because the poems produced contain good values and Islamic values, such as tawhid, creed,
morals, devotion, gratitude, da'wah, and so on.
