“Teromba”
Teromba is an art form of heritage communication within the Minangkabau Malay cultural
minority residing in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. This art form is deeply rooted in the Perpatih
custom. The term "Teromba" encompasses various connotations, including customary, law and
order, and customs (Abdul Rahman & Jafrey, 2021).
The majority of the Teromba in the Theatre Tanjong Script served to illustrate the
significance of customs, leadership, and an awareness of their shared beliefs. The term "Teromba"
is typically employed by leaders or elders as a means of inspiring and motivating the younger
generation through the use of this proverbial expression. The preservation of tradition plays a
crucial role in fostering a cohesive community. Hence, the leader shall instill inspiration within the

younger generation through the use of motivational language.
