motif of the foot position Langkah Mabuk while stepping counter-clockwise in a circle or circle that has
been formed. Next, the movement motif of Limbai Menapak hand position continues after the movement
motif of Susun Sirih hand position with the same step, the Langkah Mabuk.
When the change of song based on the flute changes, the movement motif of the Dayung hand
position will be performed together with the movement motif of the local walking foot position and
followed by the motif of the movement of the hand position Layar Sirih, Susun Sirih and Telapak Dua along
with the motif of the movement of the foot position of Duduk Lutut Tunggal.
The Dance of the Puteri Mabuk can be detected through the movement motifs of the specific hand
and foot positions, which are the movement motifs of the Limbai Menapak hand position and the Langkah
Mabuk foot position. The dancer begins the dance by raising the right hand in a curve with the palm up
and four fingers pointing upwards while the left hand is straight at the side of the body with the movement
of the hand position of the cloth pinching on the side of the left thigh. As the dancer raises the right hand,
the left foot moves and takes a step forward with the Langkah Mabuk foot position. The movement motif
for the part of the hands and feet will change alternately right and left. After completing the motif of the
movement of the Limbai Menapak hand position on the right side, the motif of the movement of the
Limbai Menapak hand position on the left is also performed alternately with the movement of the Langkah
Mabuk foot position.
Dancers move one step forward in a circular floor formation and exchange motifs of the position
of hand movements and foot beats on every 16 beat in the song. For example, the right hand is curved,
the left hand on the left side of the body pinches the cloth, while the left foot moves to step one step in
front of the right foot. The exchange of hand gestures and foot beats on each beat 16 is repeated
alternately throughout the Puteri Mabuk dance.
Toh Lai Chee (2006) states that a specific song, Lagu Puteri Mabuk, accompanies the Puteri Mabuk
Dance. The song is based on a colostomy structure marked by a gong on every beat 4, a mong and a
canang on every beat, and a kecerek on every beat 4 (bar 1, gong, mong, and kecerek) and is accompanied
by a rebana beat in a 16 beat cycle (Bars 1 - 4, 5 - 8, rebana). The main beat of the rebana ibu is played by
the rebana penganak in different 16-bit rhythms, while the rebana penganak plays continuous beats in
ascending and descending order. As a result of mixing the rebana of ibu and penganak, the moment is
produced (16 bits) Puteri Mabuk song.
