settlements, there are factors of values and beliefs that shape the purpose of building houses in such a
form, namely; (i) Confirming supernatural powers that they are members of the same group and should
be treated in the same way. (ii) Expect Hala' Asal to always grant a cool atmosphere to their homes, (iii)
Avoid the homes of group members being disturbed by evil influences such as outsiders who want to steal
and rob. (iv) Creating a 'sense of place' among group members. (v) Creating a sense of responsibility,
understanding, and helping each other among group members.

                      4.1.2 Construction of Haya’
Two categories of residential houses have their functions in daily life, namely; Haya’ is temporary
and Haya’ is permanent. The construction procedure of these two forms of Haya’ is based on traditional
knowledge and beliefs that have been inherited for a long time.
                      a) Construction of Temporary Haya’
As explained, this form of Haya’ is still practiced in two situations namely; (a) requirements in
hunting and gathering activities. (b) The need to adapt to hot weather.
                         i. Haya’s form
Haya’ is more like a 'banana comb' or hut, its construction is very simple. The construction process
takes a short time between one and two hours. The size of Haya’ usually depends on the length of the
Cucuh frond or Salak frond used as a roof, it also depends on the person who built it and the number of
family members who will live in it. In terms of size, Haya’ usually range in size from 4 feet x 6 feet to 6 feet
               x 8 feet.
                         ii. Building materials
The building materials of this form of house are obtained from the area close to the place chosen
as a residential site. The ingredients used since tradition are as follows; (a) Cucuh leaves or salak leaves to
be used as a roof. (b) Small wood to be used as the main frame of the house, which is the pole and crossbar.
               (c) Bembam trees, bamboo or leaves to be used as benches or floors.
                        iii. Built Structure
