The following elaborations will refer to the first overview from Figure 2. After examining these
three core components of compliance with Islamic values, it becomes clear that both Linkage (1) and
Linkage (2) coexist within these core components. In other words, the spirit of Islam guides Malay society.
This guidance is then manifested by Malay society through traditional Malay Islamic art, specifically in the
context of Islamic-compliant carved ornamentation, which is the main focus of this research.

The related terms for a further understanding of the correlation between (A), (B), and (C)

Figure 3 provides several terms to further understand the correlation described in Figure 2. The
term "sequence of events" is defined as a pattern of movement, according to the Oxford dictionary (2023),
referring to the order of events in a story: beginning, middle, and end. In simpler terms, "sequence" means
a specific order in which related things follow each other (Oxford dictionary, 2023). Therefore, the spirit
of Islam represents the start or beginning, followed by Malay society in the middle, and concluded with
Islamic-compliant carved ornamentation. This correlation forms a bond where each component cannot be
rearranged. When considering the bigger picture, this entire system acts as a "set-up," meaning "how
something, such as an organisation or equipment, is organised, planned, or arranged" (Oxford dictionary,
2023). In line with this definition, it indicates how Islam can pave the way for outlining the life of Malay
society to embrace the beauty and truthfulness of Islamic teaching and values. Additionally, the translation
of "set-up," in Bahasa Melayu is "pengaturan." As explained by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (2017),
"pengaturan" is "perihal (perbuatan dan sebagainya) mengaturkan." Then, "pengaturan" is written in Jawi
writing as نروتاڠڤ. Jawi writing is being highlighted here due to its significance as one of the traditional
Malay Islamic arts that undergoes the same set-up process as traditional Malay wood carving to
incorporate Islamic values. Furthermore, the word نروتاڠڤ will undergo the Kod Jawi technique (teknik
Kod Jawi). However, the relevance of this Kod Jawi in this context will be explained in detail in Linkage (1)
and Linkage (2). Hence, Table 2 below illustrates the implementation process of Kod Jawi in the word
               "pengaturan."
