Islamic arts permit unrestricted expression and the incorporation of diverse concepts and aesthetic
elements, so long as they adhere to Shari'a principles.
Islamic beliefs in the Malay Archipelago, art is commonly regarded as a form of worship and a
tangible expression of “Tawhid”, which signifies the assertion of Allah (Mehmet, 2022) Typically, the
discourse references the hadith, which affirms that Allah is characterised by supreme beauty and
possesses a fondness for aesthetic excellence. Consequently, the act of creating a work of art can be
viewed as a sincere endeavour to establish a deeper connection with the divine. Islamic art is often
regarded as a representation of “Tawhid”, as its primary objective is centred around worship rather than
being solely focused on artistic expression, which is characteristic of contemporary Western art
practises. The term "Al-”Tawhid”" is widely recognised as the preeminent Islamic paradigm, and this
assertion is justifiable. Expanding and providing a comprehensive framework for comprehending and
interpreting the concept of “Tawhid” is vital. The endeavours of individuals extend beyond their spiritual
connection with a higher power, encompassing their interactions with the natural world and their fellow
human beings. Monotheism possesses the inherent capacity to establish the most profound structural
structure within the context of Islam.
