ABSTRAK
This research is an investigation related to exploring the use of various techniques and connecting
tools often used in bamboo circuits for building construction. This research is interesting because there is
no documentation regarding multiple techniques and connecting tools often used in bamboo for building
construction, especially in Java, Indonesia. This research aims to document and describe various
techniques and connecting tools in bamboo construction for buildings and as a starting point in making
and creating new connecting tools for construction from bamboo materials. This research is qualitative
research with a theoretical basis based on observations of facts in the field. From the analysis, three groups
were found based on three connection techniques using three different tools: the tie, peg, and
substitution. This research contributes to preserving traditional construction practices and providing
guidance for further innovation in the field of sustainable construction in the future.
Keywords: various, techniques, tie, peg, substitution
Introduction
This research explores various techniques and connecting tools in bamboo strands for building
construction. This research is interesting because research has yet to discuss using various techniques and
connecting tools in bamboo chains for building construction in Java, Indonesia. Besides that, there are
many studies aimed at finding connecting tools for bamboo that refer to something other than the
performance of traditional connecting tools that are commonly used. Meanwhile, in reality, studying
existing traditional connecting tools is very necessary because the version of traditional connecting tools,
which includes the strength of the connecting tool and bamboo at the connection point, the pattern of
damage caused, and the influence of the connecting tool on the physical condition of bamboo which is a
hollow cylindrical rod. in the middle.
Bamboo is a building material popularly used in building construction in Java, Indonesia. Bamboo
is abundant, has a fast-growing time, and can grow anywhere, making it easy to obtain and use as building
materials. Bamboo, as a building construction material, has properties that are strong, flexible, light, and
have good resistance to various weather conditions, making bamboo a material that is widely used for
building construction. However, there are weaknesses in bamboo, namely that bamboo has low durability
