have been advancing according to time and keeping up with demands. As such, researchers, scholars, and
industry professionals alike need to stay abreast of these developments so that they can adapt their
               strategies accordingly.

This research will use qualitative research as the main method to collect data and observation on
the findings. Statistics and facts that are collected from the cinema-goers will be analysed and used to
understand further the research. A small focus group of cinema-goers requires 10 respondents in each
group to gain a good understanding of the research topic. A high number of samples will give a much
better insight into the research topic but due to time constraints, only a small focus group will be done.
Respondents will be chosen based on their criteria of frequent cinema-goers to give good insight and
knowledge on the topic. Results from the data will be analysed and can be used to conclude the research.
This research will be applying purposive and convenience sampling too. Both types of sampling are
relevant because by using purposive sampling, I can get data from a specific respondent, in this case, a
cinema-goer who watches. By applying convenience sampling, I can collect data from any respondent
available at a cinema hall that suits my sample criteria.

               Literature Review

While this particular topic has been studied before, from my observation and readings regarding
the audience and cinema, the studies so far have been lacking in terms of the specificity I would like to
               focus on.

Film and audience are often intertwined as film cannot exist without an audience to consume and
enjoy the art form. Thus, film and audience studies are often done to have a larger and more detailed
understanding of the influence connected between these two. Abdul Wahab Hamzah is an experienced
Malaysian film and theatre critic, scholar and writer. With his vast experience and knowledge in the field,
he also became jury panel for the Malaysian Film Festival, Anugerah Skrin and Anugerah Skrin Angkasa.
