                             The influences of Arab Culture on the Influences of Arab Culture on

                                       Muslim Society in Muang District, Satun Province

                                                           ABSTRACT


                                     The  objectives  of  this  research  are  1)  to  study  culture  and  its
                       influence, 2) to study the way of Muslim Arab culture and the life way of Muslim

                       Culture in Muang district, Satun province, and 3) to examine the influences of the

                       Muslim Arab culture on the Muslim community in Muang district, Satun province. The
                       study relied on relevant document, literature, and data collected from interview of

                       key informants. The research used an analytical and descriptive method.
                                     The research found that 1) The influences of Muslim Arab culture on

                       the Muslim community in Muang district, Satun province, came into being after the
                       Malayu community therein converted to Islam, and the first Muslim Arab culture

                       studied influencing on them is the linguistic one including Arabic alphabet and Arabic

                       loan words 2) The second culture studied influencing on them is the clothing culture
                       including Kopiah hat, Turban headband, Toub robe, and overcoat, and  3) The third

                       culture  influencing  on  them  is  the  food  culture  including  Saudi  Arabian  Biyarni

                       (risotto), chicken Biyarni, and Humus (ground chick beans). The Arab culture most
                       influencing on the Muslim community in the area is the clothing culture due to its

                       being the symbol of the religious learned men and has an economic implication in
                       the  area  studied.  The  Second  is  the  linguistic  culture.  And  the  third  is  the  food

                       culture.
