Thesis Title Implementation of Strategic Planning of Private Islamic Schools in
Satun Province.

ABSTRACT
This research aims (1) to study reality of the implementation of strategic planning of
private Islamic schools in Satun Province, (2) to compare the reality of the implementation of
strategic planning of private Islamic schools in Satun Province based on difference of gender, age,
educational level, job experience, and size of schools, and (3) to examine problems and ways of
developing the implementation of strategic planning to improve the administration of the private
Islamic schools in Satun Province. The samples of the study are 222, comprising administrators
and teachers of the private Islamic schools in Satun officially affiliated with of the Office of Satun
Private Education. The questionnaire and interview are used in the research to collect the relevant
data. The statistics adopted in analyzing the data consist percentage value, average value, standard
deviant value of T (Test), comparative statistics of T and F.
The results of the research found that the implementation of strategic planning of private
Islamic schools in Satun, according to the administrators and the teachers and as a whole, is at
medium level. Considering individually, the implementation of all planning factors is also at
medium level except plan making which is at much level. Comparative results of opinion of the
administrators and the teachers based on the variants such as gender, educational level, and size
of the schools in relation to the adoption of the administrative strategy in running the private
Islamic schools in Satun are not different while those based on the variants such as age, position,
and job experience are importantly different at the rate of .05. The problems of the
implementation of the strategy in running the private Islamic schools in Satun are lack of
planning, shortage of time planning in working, scarcity of job experience and professionalism,
lack of steadily organized team-working, no continuous assessment of the work done. The ways
to improve the performance are preplanning, adopting working timetable, training and educating
on making of working plan for the relevant performers, and improving the plan in conformity
with its implementation and continuous assessment.
