ABSTRACT
The objectives of this study are to study the adaptation of policeman in Muang
Pattani Police Station toward the unrest in the three southern border provinces and to search for
factors affecting adaptation of policeman in Muang Pattani Police Station toward the unrest in the
three southern border provinces. The study is quantitative research, collected 350 population, who
are police officials stationing in Muang Pattani Police Station in fiscal year 2011 and 2012
by used the questionnaire. Then, percentage, mean, standard deviation and Multiple Regression
Analysis used to analyze data.
The results of the study found that role function adataption of policeman in Muang
Pattani Police Station in overall was high level ( =3.97) and self-concept adaptation of
policeman Muang Pattani Police Station in overall is in mudium level ( =2.63). The
relationships between personal factors and adaptation of policeman in Muang Pattani Police
Station found that the period of time for performance and police ranks were related with role
function adaptation at statistically significant level 0.01 and 0.05 respectively. Education level
was related with self-concept adaptation at statistically significant level 0.01. While, sufficient
income of policeman was related with role function at statistically significant level 0.01.
Accommodation was related with role function adaptation and self-concept adaption at
statistically significant level 0.01. In addition, extra money and promotion were related with role
function and self-concept adaptation at statistically significant level 0.01.
