ABSTRACT

This study examines the profound influence of tourism digitalization on heritage preservation and
promotion in the captivating city of Malacca. As an iconic historical site, Malacca faces the dual challenge
of preserving its rich cultural heritage while effectively promoting their priceless treasure to a global
audience. This study delves into the integration of digital technologies and its consequences on the city's
local wisdom as well as historical identity. Employing a qualitative research approach, the investigation
encompasses in-depth interviews data from both stakeholders and tourists. The findings shed light on the
extent to which digitalization has impacted heritage preservation and promotional strategies. By
understanding the dynamics of this transformation, the research contributes to the sustainable
management of heritage tourism, safeguarding Malacca's local wisdom for future generations while
embracing the opportunities presented by digital advancements.
